d. Cage Assembly and Installation

Clean spider and spider weldment, making sure sockets are free of old adhesive and gasket
material.

Coat sockets with adhesive and install 24 gaskets.

Lubricate O-ring. Install O-ring on spider.

Install three handles. Install 6 flatwashers, 6 neoprene O-rings, and 12 nuts.

Install three nuts, flatwashers, and neoprene O-rings on three tie rods.

Install three tie rods in spider. Install three flatwashers and nuts.

Making sure gaskets stay in sockets, place three center elements in center sockets on spider.

Place spider weldment in position so that tie rod holes aline with tie rods, and center guide pins
just engage filter element core tubes.

Make sure that gaskets are secure in sockets. Place nine outer elements in outer sockets on
spider.

Slowly press spider weldment down while alining outer filter elements with guide pins.

Install three nuts, six flatwashers, and three springs. Tighten nuts until they make contact with
top flatwashers, then tighten seven more turns.
WARNING
To prevent injury, two people are required to lower cartridge filter cage assembly into casing.
CAUTION
Be careful not to damage O-ring when installing cartridge filter cage assembly.

Turn cartridge filter cage assembly upright and lower into filter housing.

Install top assembly. Install four nut.

Close cartridge valve.
