Starter. Check for loose mounting hardware and wire
connections. Tighten as required. Start engine. (See
TM 10-4610-229-10.) Listen for unusual noise while
starting. Replace starter as required (para 2-88).

Alternator. Check for loose mounting hardware and wire
connections. Tighten as required. Start engine. (See
TM 10-4610-229-10.) Listen for unusual noise. Replace
alternator as required (para 2-90).
NOTE
If pump is in continuous operation, adjust belt weekly.

Fanbelt. Check belt for wear, cracks, and proper
adjustment. Adjust or replace as required (para 2-89).

Fuel Injection Lines. Check for loose mounting
hardware and leaks. Tighten mounting hardware or
replace lines as required (para 2-95).

Fuel Filter. Replace filter quarterly or after 150 hr
of operation, whichever comes first (para 2-93).

Fuel Pump. Check for loose mounting hardware and fuel
line connections. Tighten loose mounting hardware and
connections. Check pump for cracks and leaks. Replace
pump as required (para 2-97).

Fuel Tank and Lines. Inspect fuel tank and filler neck
filter for damage. Replace as required (para 2-108).
Inspect fuel lines for damage and leaks. Replace as
required (para 2-21).

Coolant Expansion Tank. Check for cracks and leaks.
Replace as required (para 2-98).

Skid. Check skid for cracks and other damage. If
damaged, notify your supervisor.
