Fuel Pump. Check for cracks, leaks, and loose mounting
hardware. Tighten loose mounting hardware. Replace as
required (para 2-45).

Air Filter. Inspect air filter and gasket for proper
installation, cracks, breaks, and loose connections.
Replace as required (para 2-46).
NOTE
If pump is in continuous operation, adjust belts weekly.

Fanbelt. Check fanbelt adjustment. Adjust as required
(para 2-48).

Oil Filter Head. Check for cracks and leaks. If
damaged, notify your supervisor.

Starter. Check for loose mounting hardware and wire
connections. Tighten as required. Start engine. (See
TM 10-4610-229-10.) Listen for unusual noise while
starting. Replace starter as required (para 2-56).

Alternator. Check for loose mounting hardware and wire
connections. Tighten as required. Start engine. (See
TM 10-4610-229-10.) Listen for unusual noise. Replace
alternator as required (para 2-52).

Muffler Assembly. Check for cracks, leaks, and loose
mounting hardware. Tighten hardware. Replace muffler
as required (para 2-49).

Nozzle Holder. Check for loose mounting hardware and
leaks. Tighten loose mounting hardware.

Cooling System. Check area around engine cylinder head
for dirt and trash. Clean cylinder head and cylinder
head fins. (Sec TM 10-4610-229-10.)

Skid. Check skid for cracks and other damage. If
damaged, notify your supervisor.
