Install four pole shoes and coil shunt in housing. Push solenoid connector through housing. Install four mounting
screws, lockwashers, and nuts.

Install wire on connector. Install screw.

Connect leads to brushes and brush holders. Install screws.

Install brush holders, brushes, and brush springs.' Install pins.

Install pole shoe housing on drive housing.
NOTE
Brushes must be pushed open so that commutator will slide in place.

Install screw in solenoid connector to solenoid.

Install washer on armature shaft.

Install commutator end cover. Install two screws.

Install starter (para 2-56).
