3-53. SERVICE METER REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)

Remove lip seal from adapter.
CAUTION
When removing drive gear, do not let races or bearing fall into governor drive housing opening.
Damage to equipment may result.

Remove service meter drive gear, two bearing races, and bearing from housing.

Inspect parts for damage. Replace as required.

Installation

Coat lip seal with engine oil (MIL-L-2104).

Install seal in adapter with lip of seal away from service meter. Tap seal in until seal makes contact with bottom
of counter bore in adapter.

Install O-ring seal on service meter.

Install adapter on service meter.
NOTE
Large groove on the drive gear goes down.

Install bearing race, bearing, bearing race, and service meter drive gear in the governor drive housing.
6
Install groove in drive gear in alinement with shaft in service meter.
7
Install service meter in place on governor drive housing.
8
Install clamps and bolts. Tighten bolts.
