3-54. INJECTION PUMP REPLACEMENT (CONT)

Fasten pointer assembly to pump housing using mounting screw.

Install shaft in degree wheel.

Install degree wheel with shaft on drive end of injection pump camshaft.

Install timing pin through hole in pump housing and in notch in camshaft.
CAUTION
Make sure degree wheel does not move from 0° mark when screw is tightened.

Aline 0° mark on the degree wheel with pointer. Tighten screw.

Remove timing pin from injection pump housing.
NOTE
Fuel rack must be in center position before injection pumps can be removed.

Push and hold fuel rack against pointer assembly.

Remove protection caps and felt washers from pumps.
10
Using bushing wrench, remove bushings that hold fuel injection pumps into housing.
