Remove washer and rocker arm.
NOTE
Center bracket does not have a pin.

Remove pins from end brackets.

Remove brackets, rocker arms, and springs from rocker arm shaft.

Inspect all parts for cracks, wear, and other damage. Replace as required.
c. Rocker Arm Assembly
1 Coat rocker arm shaft with engine oil (MIL-L-2104).

Install center bracket and rocker arms.

Install spring rocker arm, and bracket on each end of rocker arm shaft.

Install bracket pin with 0.46-0.54 in. extended from surface of bracket.

Install outside rocker on each end of shaft.
6
Install washers as needed to get assembly clearance of 0.012-0.055 in. at each end of shaft.

Install retainer on each end of shaft.
d. Rocker Arm/Push Rod Installation

Apply engine oil (MIL-L-2104) on dowels for bridges.

Install bridges on dowels. Keep hand pressure on bridges. Turn adjusting screw until contact is made with valve
stem.

Turn adjusting screw an additional 20
to 30°.

Holding adjusting screw in this position. Tighten locknut 19-25 ft lb.
5
Install push rods. Install rocker arm assembly.
6
Apply engine oil (MIL-L-2104) on rocker arm bolts.
7
Evenly install three rocker arm bolts.
