2-15. BATTERY CABLE REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)

Install negative battery cable to engine. Install bolt and lockwasher.

Install positive battery cable to POS (+) battery post. Tighten terminal nut.

Install negative battery cable to NEG (-) battery post. Tighten terminal nut.
5
Install battery box cover and buckle strap.

WARNING
· To prevent injury to personnel from electric shock, be very careful when connecting battery
cables.
· Fumes from battery acid may cause explosion. To prevent explosion, keep sparks and open
flame away from battery.

Install positive battery cable to starter. Install lockwasher and nut.

Install negative battery cable to mounting plate. Install lockwasher and nut.
3
Install connector battery cable between two batteries.
4
Install positive battery cable to POS (+) battery post.
5
Install negative battery cable to NEG (-) battery post.
6
Install tie wraps as required.
7
Remove two battery terminal nuts from battery nearest socket. Install two wires from plug
socket. Install battery terminal nuts.
8
Tighten four battery terminal nuts.
9
Install battery cover. Install two flatwashers, lockwashers, and nuts.
