2-16. BATTERY/BATTERY BOX REPLACEMENT (CONT)
High Pressure Pump Assembly
WARNING
· To prevent injury to personnel from electric shock, be very careful when disconnecting battery
cables.
· Fumes from battery acid may cause explosion. To prevent explosion, keep sparks and open
flame away from battery.
· If battery acid gets on skin or eyes, wash with water right away. Get medical help.

Remove two battery cover mounting nuts, lockwashers, and flatwashers. Remove battery cover.

Remove two battery terminal nuts. Remove two wires leading to plug socket.

Reinstall two battery terminal nuts. Do not tighten.

Loosen remaining battery terminal nuts. Disconnect battery cables.
5
Remove two nuts, lockwashers, and flatwashers. Remove battery retainer.
6
Remove batteries.
