(0.79 to 1.58 mm) above the surface of holderwhen properly installed.d. Install seal holder (54) on housing (55), Using new gasket (56), secure with two capscrews (53).e. Refer to Figure 2-88, sheet 1 and install elbows (50), nipples (49) and valves (48).f. Close drain valves (48).g. Install valve seat (47), The seat must be held above the bore in housing (52) and carefully dropped so that it entersits tapered bore in the housing and seats so it can not be removed easily, by hand. Then, tap it into place with a brass barand three or four light taps with a hammer.h. Assemble plate (46), springs (44 and 45), and retainer (43).CAUTIONThe projection on the bottom of retainer must pass through springs and through thehole in plate. The valve will not operate if this is not done and maintained duringassembly.i. Install capscrew (42) and tighten to 35 to 40 ft. Ibs. (47 to 54 Nm). If removed, install nut (33) in stuffing box (22).NOTEDo not tighten nut at this time.j. Set stuffing box (22) on nut (33) so that the groove for preformed packing (23) is facing upward.k. Place packing ring (26) in stuffing box (22), flat face down.2-252
