Wash hands with soap and waterand use a lanolin-based skin cream to prevent skin drying. Do not use solvent nearopen flames or other sources of heat. Do not work with solvent in a closed room. Besure work area is well ventilated.a. Refer to Figure 2-88, sheet 1 and remove four nuts (1), Iockwashers (2), washers (3), washers (4) and capscrews(5).CAUTIONThe drain valves and fittings on the fluid end housing are easily damaged. Eitherremove drain valves or use extreme care to prevent damage during removal.b. Obtain a forklift or suitable lifting device. If necessary, rig a suitable lifting sling and Iift the pump assembly out as aunit.a. Refer to Figure 2-88, sheet 1 and remove two nuts (6) and flat washers (7). Remove clamp (8), cover (9), andpreformed packing (10).b. Remove capscrew (11), retainer (12), springs(13 and 14) and valve plate (15).NOTEIf seat does not come free by tightening nut on puller, install nut on top of the puller(all threaded rod) and tap firmly with hammer to free valve seat.2-249
