Install the inner races of bearings (13 and 14) on crankshaft, being careful to slide the heated races into theirfinal position.h. Install the outer race of bearing (13) in crankcase (31).i. Install the outer race of bearing (14) in end cover (11).NOTEWhen installing crankshaft assembly, position the connecting rods so that the frontrod, when viewed from the open end of the crankcase, is in the center cylinderopening. The rear connecting rod goes through the large right hand opening and themiddle rod goes through the small left hand opening.j. Install the assembled crankshaft assembly in crankcase (31) being careful not to allow the connecting rods tobump against the crankcase.k. Block the crankshaft assembly so it can not fall, then install preformed packing (12) and seal (16) in cover (11).CAUTIONWhen installing cover, be careful not to damage seal.l. Install cover (11) with the stamped number down and install washers (10) and capscrews (9). Make sure thecrankshaft rotates freely by hand.m. Install seal (15) in the bore of crankcase (31).n. Install pulley (8), tensioning piece (7), flange (6) and secure with capscrews (5).o. Install roll pin (4), sheave (3), washer (2) and secure with socket head screw (1).3-12
