TM 10-4610-232-34e. Remove end shield (10), four capscrews (11) and bearing outer race (13).f. Remove snap ring (12), bearing (14) and retainer (15).NOTEIf necessary, support the non-drive end of the motor shaft to prevent it from droppingand causing misalignment at the drive end while disassembling the drive end.NOTEIf maybe necessary to pry off the cover. A grease fitting is included on end cover. Donot remove the fitting unless replacement is required.g. Remove four capscrews (17) and end cover (18).NOTEBearing outer race is pressed into end shield.h. Remove four capscrews (19), end shield (20) and bearing outer race (21).i. Remove bearings (22) and retainer (23).REPAIR.NOTEReplace bearings as a set.Replace any damaged, cracked or worn components.REASSEMBLY.a. Install retainer (23) on motor shaft (16).b. Install bearing (22) on shaft (16).c. Install bearing outer race (21) into end shield (20).d. Install end shield (20) and secure with capscrews (19).e. Install end cover (18) and secure with capscrews (17).f. Install retainer (15) on motor shaft (16).g. Slide bearing (14) and snap ring (12) on motor shaft until snap ring (12) falls in groove on motor shaft (16).NOTEWhen installing end shield, do not press tight against stator shell. Install bolt or use astraight piece of wire to align holes in end cover with retainer.h. Install bearing outer race (13) in end shield (10).i. Install end shield (10) and secure with capscrews (11).j. Install bearing cover (9) and secure with capscrews (8).k. If removed, replace grease tube (7).l. Install fan (6) and secure with snap ring (5).m. Place cover (4) on motor housing and secure with capscrews (1) and washers (2 and 3).3-14
