(32) Position gasket on filter pump suction side flange, and secure flange (21) to pump flange with four screws (2).
4-100. THREE WAY PLUG VALVES.
a.
Removal of Effluent Plug Valves.
(1)
Separate union (1, fig. 4-51) above valve (2) and unions (3) below and at side and lift valve out.
(2)
Remove nipples (5) and union halves from valve (2).
(3)
Remove instruction plate (4).
b.
Replace. Replace effluent valve if it is unserviceable.
c.
Installation of Effluent Plug Valves.
(1)
Install male half of elbow union (1, fig. 4-51) in top of valve (2).
(2)
Install nipple (5) in bottom of valve (2) and screw half of union (3) on it.
(3)
Install nipple and union half in side of valve (2).
(4)
Install instruction plate (4).
(5)
Position valve (2) with lines and tighten unions.
d.
Removal of Influent Plug Valves.
(1)
Separate elbow with union (3, fig. 2-24) and lift nipple (4) and remove bushing (5) from valve (9).
(2)
Remove wrench (6) from valve (9), then separate the elbow with union (1) and turn valve (9) 1/4 turn
counterclockwise and remove nipple (2) from valve.
(3)
Remove instruction plate (8) from valve (9) and remove valve from nipple (7).
e.
Replace. Replace the influent valve if it is unserviceable.
f.
Installation of Influent Plug Valves.
(1)
Install valve (9, fig. 2-24) on nipple (7) and install nipple (2) with piping in valve (9) and connect elbow
union (1).
(2)
Install wrench (6) and instruction plate (8) on valve (9).
(3)
Install bushing with union half (5) in valve (9) and connect elbow union (3).
