Replace. Replace the valve if it is unserviceable. Replace the gasket if it is defective.

Installation.
(1)
Position gasket (5, fig. 4-92) on filter housing cover (6).
(2)
Position air release valve on gasket (5) and secure with six washers (4) and screws (3).
(3)
Attach shield (2) to air release with two screws (1).
4-107. CHEMICAL SLURRY FEEDER DRIVE DRIVE CHAIN GUARD.
a.
Removal. Remove four screws (2, fig. 3-35) and washers (1). Remove guard (3).
b.
Replace. Replace broken mounting brackets and repair all cracks and dents. Repaint the guard as necessary to
prevent rusting.
c.
Installation.
(1)
Position chain guard (3, fig. 3-35) over chain with mounting holes aligned with brace (7) and chemical
slurry feeder tank (9).
(2)
Secure guard with four washers (1) and screws (2).
4-108. CHEMICAL SLURRY FEEDER SPEED REDUCER.
a.
Removal.
(1)
Remove chemical slurry feeder drive chain guard (para. 4-107) and drive chain.
(2)
Remove slurry feeder drive motor guard and drivebelt (para 4-43).
(3)
Remove four nuts (6, fig. 3-35), washers (4), and screws (5); lift speed reducer (8) from its mounting.
NOTE
If the speed reducer is to be replaced, retain the pulley and the sprocket and key for installation on
the replacement speed reducer.
b.
Inspect. Inspect the speed reducer for cracked housing and mounting base, leaky gaskets, damaged shafts, and
loose or damaged bearings.
c.
Replace. Replace a defective speed reducer, sprocket, pulley, and keys.
