2-52. ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT (CONT)
b. Removal

Unbuckle battery box strap. Remove battery box cover.
WARNING
To prevent electric shock, be very careful when disconnecting battery cable.
2 Disconnect negative cable from battery. Remove battery cable from terminal.

Remove fanbelt (para 2-48).

Tag and disconnect two wires.
5
Remove alternator adjusting screw.
6
Remove alternator mounting screw. Remove alternator.
c. Installation
1
Install alternator. Install mounting screw.

Install adjusting screw.
3
Connect two wires. Remove tags.
4
Install fanbelt (para 2-48).
5
Connect negative cable to negative (NEG) battery terminal.
6
Install battery box cover. Buckle straps.
