2-75. MULTIMEDIA REPLACEMENT
a. Removal

Loosen nut. Remove access hole cover.

Inspect access hole cover gasket. Replace if required.

Disconnect bottom hose from multimedia filter. Allow water to drain from filter. Connect bottom hose.

Disconnect top hose from multimedia filter.
WARNING
Make sure lifting device has minimum lifting capacity of 5200 lb (2359 kg). DO NOT stand under
load. Death or serious injury may result.

Using suitable lifting device, place multimedia filter on its side with access hole near ground.
WARNING
To prevent injury to personnel, make sure multimedia filter is securely chocked before performing maintenance.

Place chocks around filter to prevent rolling.
7 Place system in backwash mode. (See TM 10-4610-229-10.)
