Release pressure. Look at pressure scale reading under 0-ring.

Repeat steps 1 thru 4 for rear belt.
6 Both readings should be 21-25 lb (9.5-11.25 kg) and within 1 lb (0.45 kg) of each other.
NOTE
If belts are not adjusted correctly, perform steps 7 thru 13.

Loosen four bolts.

Loosen two adjusting screw locknuts.

Turn adjusting screws equally to adjust belt tensioner assembly.

Check adjustment (steps 1 thru 6).

Tighten adjusting screw locknuts.

Tighten four bolts.

Check adjustment after 2 hours of operation. Adjust as required. Check again after 2 more hours of operation.
14 Install housing (subpara e).

Housing Installation
NOTE
Steps 1 thru 4 are performed only when replacing entire V-belt housing.

Install rear housing. Install five mounting screws and lockwashers.

Connect safety shutoff cord spring to rear housing.

Install throttle control and KILL START lever (para 2-87).
WARNING
To prevent electric shock, make sure battery is disconnected before performing this procedure.

Connect three wires to start switch. Remove tags.
