NOTE
Dull or beveled side of the rotating seal goes next to the stationary seal.

Install rotating seal and spacer ring.

Wrap stainless steel shaft to prevent scratches.

Install dial indicator on stainless steel shaft.

Set pointer against rotating seal. Set dial indicator to 0.

Push against rotating seal with thumbs to compress stationary seal. Check reading on dial indicator.
NOTE
Stationary seal must be compressed 0.040-0.060 in. When seal cannot be compressed, the stationary and rotating seal
must be replaced as a pair.

Remove dial indicator.

Install impeller.

Install lockwasher and impeller screw. Bend tab on lockwasher to keep screw from turning.

Install intermediate housing and gasket. Install eight studs, flatwashers, lockwashers, and nuts.

Check pump for binding and rubbing.

Install pump (para 2-34).
