Using a multimeter, test continuity from brush C to point D. Reading should be 0.

Using a multimeter, test continuity from point D to point A and point D to brush B. Reading should be infinity.
NOTE
Diode assembly should pass current in only one direction. If test light fails to light in step 7 or lights in step 9, replace
diode assembly.

Connect test light from positive (+) terminal of battery to bare metal of heat sink.

Connect a jumper wire from negative (-) terminal of battery to positive output stud. Lamp should light.

Connect test light from positive (+) terminal of battery to positive output stud.

Connect a jumper wire from negative (-) terminal of battery to bare metal of heat sink. Lamp should not light.
10
Inspect rear housing for cracks, broken webs, and stripped threads.
