Using bearing puller, remove camshaft bearings. Remove spring, two pins, and yoke.

Remove two fuel rack bearings from pump housing.
b. Assembly

Install yoke, spring, and two pins.
NOTE
Camshaft bearing joints are installed ±15 ° from vertical centerline of bores. Front and rear
camshaft bearings are installed even with the fuel injection pump housing. Center camshaft
bearings is installed 4.79-4.83 in. from rear face of fuel injection pump housing.

Using camshaft bearing installation tool, install camshaft bearings.

Using driver, install bearing with a tab for groove in rack.
NOTE
Small holes in rear bearing must be installed parallel to vertical centerline of pump.

Using drive plate, install rear bearing for rack to a depth of 0.277-0.287 in.

Lubricate camshaft with clean engine oil (MIL-L-2104).

Install camshaft in pump housing.

Install plate.

Put gear in position on end of camshaft. Be sure rod is in groove of camshaft.

Install two plates. spring, lock, and two bolts on gear.

If new lifters or pumps are to be installed, adjust fuel pump timing dimension (para 3-54).

Install lifter, washers, spring, and spacers.
11 Install rack in pump housing.
