3-56. GOVERNOR ADJUSTMEIIT (CONT)
2 Start engine. (See TM 10-4610-229-10.)

Check low idle rpm. Low idle is 650 rpm.

Check high idle rpm. High idle is 2,090 rpm.
NOTE
Rpm readings other than 650 rpm for low idle and 2,090 rpm for high idle require adjustment.

Remove seal wire from cover bolt.

Remove cover bolt. Remove cover.

Move governor linkage low idle adjustment screw to low idle position.

Turn low idle adjusting screw until 650 rpm is obtained.

Increase engine speed and return to low idle. Check setting. Readjust if required.
10
Move governor linkage high idle adjustment screw to high idle position.
11 Turn high idle adjusting screw until 2,090 rpm is obtained.
12
Reduce engine speed and return to high idle. Check setting. Readjust if required.
13
Install idle bolt cover.

Install cover bolt.

Install seal wire. Fasten seal.
