Replace. Replace any unserviceable parts.

Reassembly and Installation.
(1)
Screw support rod (3, fig. 4-59) in plate (6) and install washer (7) and cotter pin (8).
(2)
Screw setscrews (9) part way into collar (2).
(3)
Insert adjusting rod (3, fig. 3-24) upward through bracket (9) and slide collar (4) on rod.
(4)
Push rod (3) up through mounting bracket (6) and install other collar (4) on rod.
(5)
Position upper collar (4) about 2 inches from top of adjusting rod (3) and tighten setscrew (5).
(6)
Allow upper collar (4) to rest on mounting bracket (6) and secure lower collar (4) to adjusting rod (3) Just
below bracket.
(7)
Install handwheel (1, fig. 4-59) on top of rod (3) and secure it with pin (10).
(8)
Install a washer (5) on each screw (4) and secure plate (12, fig. 3-24) to bracket (9) with screws).
(9)
Adjust the effluent launder (para 3-51).
4-81. ERDLATOR BRIDGE RAILS.
a.
Removal.
(1)
Remove downcomer. (Refer to direct support maintenance.)
(2)
Remove connecting tube between effluent launder and wet well (para 4-74).
(3)
Remote effluent launder supporting rods (para 4-80) and lower launder into erdlator tank, allowing it to lean
against side of tank.
(4)
Remove four nuts (86, fig. 4-60) and beveled washers (9) from capscrews (14) which fasten bridge rails to
erdlator tank.
(5)
Remove capscrews (14) from bridge rails (13) and lift bridge rails from erdlator.
(6)
Remove effluent launder (12) from erdlator tank.
b.
Repair and Replace. Repair the bridge rails and effluent launder by straightening dents and bends and welding
cracks. Replace unserviceable parts.
