Remove cotter pins (16) and lever pin (17) and remove connecting link (18) from clevis (11).
(3)
Remove valve lifter (15) and locknut (14) from end of rod (7).
(4)
Unscrew packing nut (13), locknut (12), and clevis (11) from bonnet.
(5)
Push valve rod (7) out of bonnet (8) and remove packing retainer (10) and packing (9) from bonnet.
(6)
Remove disk follower (2) and valve disk (3) from piston (4).
(7)
Remove piston (4), cup packing (5), and cup follower (6) from shaft.

Replace.
(1)
Replace body or bonnet if either is damaged.
(2)
Replace valve disk if it is grooved.
(3)
Replace a damaged valve rod.

Reassembly.
(1)
Screw cup follower (6, fig. 4-63) on valve rod (7).
(2)
Position cup packing (5) over follower with lip of packing facing cup follower. Install piston (4) on end of
valve rod.
(3)
Seat valve disk (3) in recess in the piston (4) and install disk follower (2).
(4)
Install assembled rod in bonnet (8), being careful not to damage cup packing (5).
(5)
Install clevis (11) on bonnet and secure with locknut (12).
