Install packing (9), packing retainer (10), and nut (13).

Screw locknut (14) on rod (7) and then the valve liftter (15).

Position the connecting link (18) on the clevis (11) and install a pin (17). Secure it with two cotter pins (16).

Installation.
(1)
Screw valve (8, fig. 3-34) on nipple (7) and other nipple (7) in valve body, so valve body will be in an
upright position.
(2)
Install elbow union (9) on nipple (7) and connect it to nipple (11).
(3)
Install lifter (6) and connecting link (10) on valve (8) and connect float lever (3) to lifter (6) and connecting
link (10).

a.
Removal.
(1)
Loosen screw (1, fig. 3-34) from float rod connector (2) and lift float lever (3) with connector from float rod
(14).
(2)
Lower float rod (14) with float and remove float rod from float rod bracket (13).
(3)
Remove two pins (5) from lever pins (4) and remove pins (4) from float lever (3). Remove float lever (3),
screw (15), and bracket (16) as an assembly.
(4)
Install pins (4) in floar lever (3) with cotter pins (5).
b.
Disassembly.
(1)
Remove thumbscrew (6, fig. 4-64) from float rod connector (5).
(2)
Loosen nut (8) and screw float (9) and nut off float rod (7).
(3)
Remove wingnut (13), washers (3 and 17), and capscrew (2) and remove bracket (16) from float lever (1).
(4)
Remove nut (15) and capscrew (14) from bracket (16).
(5)
Remove nuts (12) and washers (11) from screws (10); remove screws and separate forks (4) and float rod
connector (5).
c.
Inspect.
(1)
Inspect float for holes and other damage.
