Replace.
(1)
Replace float if it is damaged.
(2)
Straighten float rod, lever, and forks if they are bent out of shape.
(3)
Replace all unserviceable parts.

Reassembly.
(1)
Position float rod connector (5, fig. 4-64) between forks (4) and secure the assembly to the float lever (1)
with washers (11) and nuts (12).
(2)
Screw capscrew (14) in bracket (16) and install nut (15).
(3)
Position assembled bracket (16) over long slot in float lever and install capscrew (2), flat washers (3),
lockwasher (17), and wingnut (11).
(4)
Install nut (8) and float (9) on rod (7). Tighten nut against float.
(5)
Install thumbscrew (6) in rod connector (5).

Installation.
(1)
Remove pins (4, fig. 3-34) from float lever (3).
(2)
Position float lever (3) with bracket (16), screw (15), float rod connector (2), and screw (1) as an assembly
in lifter (6) and connecting link (10).
(3)
Connect float lever (3) to lifter (6) and link (10) with pins (4) and secure pins with cotter pins (5).
(4)
Insert float rod (14) up through float rod bracket (13) and position it in float rod connector (2) and tighten
thumbscrew (1) on float rod.
(5)
Adjust low water level alarm float.
4-86. PLASTIC TUBING.

General. This paragraph contains information on plastic tubing used in the water purification unit. If any tubing
is defective it must be replaced with new tubing of the same length and inside and outside diameter as the old tubing.
New tubing should be obtained from bulk stock. Use the old piece of tubing as a pattern to get the required length when
cutting new tubing.
