Position rod (4) through bracket (12) and install pins (3) in rod.

Install nut (13) on rod (4) and screw orifice plug (14) on rod and tighten nut.

Install handwheel (5) on rod (6) and secure with pin (2).

Install Jamnut (7) on rod (6) and position stud through bracket (12). Install nut (8) and orifice plug (9) on
rod and tighten nut.

Install block (11) on pipe nipple (10) and tighten securely.

Installation.
(1)
Install block (5, fig. 4-67) and nipple (4) as an assembly in sludge concentrator tank (2).
(2)
Position bracket (1), with rods and orifice plugs assembled, to block (5) and secure with capscrews (7) and
lockwashers (6).
4-89. COAGULATED WATER PIPING BETWEEN ERDLATOR WEIR BOX AND SLUDGE CONCENTRATOR TANK.
a.
General. The piping is located between the weir box (1, fig. 4-69) and the bottom of the sludge concentrator tank
(5). It supplies coagulated water from the weir box to the sludge concentrator tank.
b.
Removal and Disassembly.
(1)
Disconnect union (3, fig. 4-69) from welded pipe (4) to sludge concentrator tank (5).
(2)
Loosen top nut on coupling (2) and remove coagulated water piping as an assembly from unit.
(3)
Remove union (7, fig. 4-70) from nipple (6) and nipple from elbow (5).
(4)
Remove elbow (5) from nipple (4) and nipple from valve (3).
(5)
Remove coupling (1) from nipple (2) and nipple from valve (3).
e.
Reassembly and Installation.
(1)
Install elbow (5, fig. 4-70) on nipple (6) and nipple (4) in elbow.
