2-102. EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT (CONT)
a. Removal
1
Remove 12 manifold retaining nuts, flatwashers, and spacers.

Remove exhaust manifold.

Remove and discard gaskets.
b. Installation
1
Clean gasket mating surface of manifold and cylinder head.

Install manifold gasket and manifold.
3
Install 12 spacers, flatwashers, and retaining nuts on manifold studs. Hand-tighten.
4
Torque nuts from center alternately outward to 33-43 ft lb.
6
Install turbocharger (para 2-86).
