Turn adjusting screw in or out until proper clearance is obtained.

Torque adjusting screw nut to 19-25 ft lb.

Check adjustment (subpara b).

Remove tdc screw from flywheel.

Turn crankshaft 360°. Install tdc screw in flywheel. No. 6 cylinder is now at tdc.
NOTE
Intake valves for cylinders 3, 5, and 6, and exhaust valves for cylinders 2, 4, and 6 can now be adjusted.

Repeat steps 3 through 7 for remainder of valves to be adjusted.

Remove tdc screw from flywheel and install in storage location.

Install valve covers (para 2-103).
