Connect other lead to one of three terminals. Observe reading.

Reverse leads. Check reading.

If both readings are the same, replace rectifier bridge.

Repeat steps 3 through 6 for other two terminals.

Remove tags. Install rear cover. Install four washers and bolts.

Stator Testing

Remove four bolts and washers. Remove rear cover.

Tag and disconnect three stator leads.
3
Connect one lead of multimeter to housing.

Connect the other lead to one of three stator leads. Reading should be infinity. If it is not, replace stator.
5
Connect stator leads. Remove tags.
6
Install rear cover. Install four washers and bolts.
