3-69. POWER TAKEOFF REPAIR
a. Disassembly

Remove driving ring retaining bolts. Remove driving ring from flywheel.

Set power takeoff on workbench with input end facing up. Support with wood blocks.

Straighten tabs on lock plate securing three bolts.

Remove three bolts, lock plate, and retainer washer.

Using a gear puller, remove drive spider.

Remove woodruff key.

Inspect rubber block for damage and wear. Remove from spider only if replacement is required.

Remove six bolts from bearing carrier. Install two 3/8 in. -16 screws in threaded holes 180° apart in bearing
carrier.
9
Tighten screws alternately to separate bearing carrier from power takeoff. Remove bearing carrier.
