FLUSHING/RINSING TANK - CONTINUED

Place pump control switch to ON (pressure) position. Turn TANK FILL SPARGER control to ON. Turn on pump
to low or high speed.
d.
Discharge fluid into water control structure using hose reel (Refer to Discharge Using Auxiliary Hose and Reel).

Repeat steps b-d.
f.
Repeat as required until water discharged is clear and tank is clean. Discharge liquid through all valves to flush/
rinse all openings and nozzles.
NOTE
When tank is sufficiently rinsed so that contamination hazard is no longer present, tank contents may be dis-
charged on the ground, and through all spray valves (Refer to steps 1 and 2 above).
g.
Drain and dry tank in accordance with Draining and Drying Tank.
DRAINING AND DRYING TANK
WARNING
NEVER drink water contained in water distributor tank. Water contained or dispensed from tank is NON-
POTABLE. Drinking non-potable water could result in injury or death.
CAUTION
Thorough draining and drying of tank and water pump is essential to prevent freeze damage to water distrib-
utor components.
NOTE
Always check with local ordinance prior to draining tank.
If more than 1000 gallons (3785 liters) remain in tank after it has been flushed/rinsed, discharge liquid
using spraying operation, and then complete residual draining operation.
1.
Drain Tank.
a.
Begin with tank in raised position.
b.
Place transmission in N (Neutral) and lock. Apply parking brake. Block wheels.
c.
Place pump control switch to ON (pressure) position.
d.
Turn TANK FILL SPARGER control to ON.
e.
Remove camlock plug at each end of lower spray bar.
f.
Turn the following to ON: GRAVITY SPRAY, PRESSURE GRAVITY, REAR SPRAY RIGHT, and REAR
SPRAY LEFT.
g.
Open suction loading inlet manual valve.
h.
Allow tank to drain.
