4.
Installation of Cultivator.
NOTE
Four personnel are required to assemble and install cultivator.
Unit Maintenance assistance is required.
a.
Park machine on firm level ground. Lower tank to the ground, apply parking brake, place transmission in N (Neutral)
and lock, and shut down engine. Block wheels.
WARNING
Total weight of cultivator is approximately 500 lb (227 kg). Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts.
Provide adequate support and use assistance during procedure. Ensure that any lifting device used is in good
condition and of suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to
follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
Cultivating discs have sharp edges. Wear gloves to help prevent serious injury from cuts.
b.
Use a suitable lift to place right and left halves of cultivator on ground, centered in front of tank.
c.
Assemble right and left halves of cultivator with eight washers, eight lockwashers, four bolts, and four nuts. Fully
tighten nuts.
d.
Roll cultivator, with assistance from lift as needed, until centered between mounting brackets at bottom front of tank.
e.
Remove four bolts from each mounting bracket. Line up top pin holes and install pin, retainer bar, two washers, and
bolts on each side.
WARNING
Stand clear of cultivator while tank is being raised. Failure to do so could cause serious injury.
f.
Start engine and have machine operator raise cultivator off ground by raising tank, while assistants install bottom pins
as holes line up.
g.
Secure bottom pin on each side with retainer bar, two washers, and bolts.
h.
Tighten all eight bolts.
