TOP LOADING (GRAVITY FEED) - CONTINUED
a.
Park machine under fill source, on level ground if possible. Tank may be either level or in lowered position.
b.
Place transmission in N (Neutral) and lock. Apply parking brake. Block wheels if on a grade.
c.
Ensure all tank and piping valves are off and pump is off.
WARNING
Use extreme caution when climbing on tank. Maintain three-point contact at all times and use rear steps and
handrails. Do NOT stand on top of tank. Do NOT stand on access opening protective screen. Be aware that
footing may be slippery. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
d.
Remove padlock, release latch, and open access cover.
e.
Place discharge end of hose over water tank access opening. Do not allow hose to contact tank or protective screen,
f.
Turn on flow of water. Fill tank until desired capacity is reached.
g.
Turn off flow of water. Remove hose from tank.
h.
Close access cover, secure with latch, and install padlock.
TOP LOADING (PRESSURE FEED)
WARNING
NEVER drink water contained in water distributor tank. Water contained or dispensed from tank is
NON-POTABLE. Drinking non-potable water could result in injury or death.
DO NOT enter water tank. Tank interior is a confined space and therefore hazardous to enter. If tank
entry becomes absolutely necessary, contact your local safety office and obtain a confined space entry
permit. Requirements of 29 CFR 1910.145(d)(2)(reference17), as well as any local requirements, must
be followed. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or death due to oxygen deprivation.
1.
Tank may be filled through access cover, using an auxiliary pump/pressurized fresh water source and hose.
2.
Top load using pressure feed as follows:
a.
Park machine close to auxiliary pump/ pressurized water source, on level ground if possible. Tank may be either
level or in lowered position.
b.
Place transmission in N (Neutral) and lock. Apply parking brake. Block wheels if on a grade.
c.
Ensure all tank and piping valves are off and pump is off.
WARNING
