Many compounds are petroleum based; do NOT smoke when handling such compounds.

Add appropriate amount of amendment, in accordance with label instructions. Do NOT add more than recom-
mended amount as this could prove to be a health hazard and/or result in damage to tank.
f.
For best results, perform operation with front of tank raised. Add amendments ONLY after tank has been filled to
at least 1/2 capacity. Preferred procedure is with tank full.
g.
To achieve thorough mixing, begin mixing operation before adding dry soil amendments to tank. With liquid soil
amendments, mixing may begin after amendments are added.

Mixing Operation.
WARNING
Use extreme caution when climbing on tank. Maintain three-point contact at all times and use rear steps
and handrails. Do NOT stand on top of tank. Do NOT stand on access cover protective grate. Be aware
that footing may be slippery. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
Use caution when mounting on machine to add amendments to tank. Place bag or container of amend-
ment on bottom step/platform before mounting tank. After mounting, place bag or container on 2nd
highest step and use top step as a place to kneel while working. Failure to follow this warning may
result in injury to personnel.
Do NOT handle any substance to be added to water distributor tank, without first reading manufac-
turer's handling precautions as printed on label. Wear appropriate protective gear, as required by MSDS
and safety and medical personnel. Do NOT increase concentration of substance used. Do NOT smoke,
as some compounds may be flammable. Failure to follow this warning may cause injury or death to per-
sonnel or damage to equipment.
a.
Begin with tank at least 1/2 full. A full tank is preferred.
b.
Raise front of tank.
c.
Place pump control switch to OFF (suction) position.
d.
Turn TANK FILL SPARGER control to ON.
e.
Move pump control lever (elevator control lever) to PUMP ON, SLOW.
f.
Raise engine speed to 1700-2200 RPM. Move pump control lever (elevator control lever) to PUMP ON, FAST.
g.
Access top of tank, using stairs and handrails at rear of tank.
h.
Remove padlock, release latch, and open access cover.
i.
Observe condition of protective grate and cutter bar before adding amendment to tank.
WARNING
Use caution when opening container of amendment. Cutter bar edges are sharp and could injure personnel.
j.
Break open bag or container of amendment using cutter bar at access cover opening. Add appropriate quantity of
amendment into tank, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
k.
Continue to fill tank as needed to achieve proper concentration of amendment.
l.
Close access cover, secure with latch, and install padlock.
