PISTON AND CONNECTING ROD REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)NOTEMake sure connecting rods are marked on side opposite of camshaft.4If connecting rod and cap are not marked, mark side opposite camshaft for location.5Remove two nuts.6Remove connecting rod cap.7Tag and remove bearings from connecting rod and cap.8Push piston up until rings clear cylinder liners.9Remove piston and connecting rod from cylinder liner.10Repeat steps 1 thru 9 for all pistons to be removed.b. Disassembly1Remove retaining rings.2Remove piston pin from piston and connecting rod.3Remove piston rings.4Inspect parts for damage. Replace as required.3-194
