3-76. PISTON AND CONNECTING ROD REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)
NOTE
Make sure connecting rods are marked on side opposite of camshaft.

If connecting rod and cap are not marked, mark side opposite camshaft for location.

Remove two nuts.

Remove connecting rod cap.

Tag and remove bearings from connecting rod and cap.

Push piston up until rings clear cylinder liners.

Remove piston and connecting rod from cylinder liner.
10
Repeat steps 1 thru 9 for all pistons to be removed.
b. Disassembly

Remove retaining rings.

Remove piston pin from piston and connecting rod.
3
Remove piston rings.
4
Inspect parts for damage. Replace as required.
